Sleep Apnea Dallas

Many people suffer from Obstructive Sleep Apnea (difficulty in staying asleep) and snoring. There are procedures and appliances today that help with these conditions. Call today to learn how a retainer type appliance can give you a more restful, quiet sleep. Most people do not realize they have OSA. If someone has told you that you snore, you may have OSA. If you have been prescribed a CPAP and find it uncomfortable or you simply do not use it, give us a call to find more out about a comfortable & effective solution. Studies show OSA patients are linked to be at a greater risk for depression, stroke, heart attack, diabetes, sexual impotence and twice as likely to die in you sleep and 7 times more likely to have a motor vehicle accident.

What is OSA?

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a breathing disorder, which occurs during sleep, due to the narrowing or total closure of the airway. OSA is when the airway becomes completely blocked and breathing stops. The brain then detects the lack of oxygen and prompts a momentary arousal to draw breath. Although OSA sufferers may experience hundreds of apnea episodes per night, they are unlikely to remember any of them. In fact, if the sufferer lives alone or sleeps separately they may not be aware of their condition, even after many years.

SomnoDent MAS ™

The SomnoDent MAS™ is an oral snoring appliance, which fits over the upper and lower teeth, much like a sports mouthguard. However unlike a sports mouthguard it is a precision-made, clinically-tested medical device. It is highly effective (in most cases) in stopping snoring and treating obstructive sleep apnea in the mild to moderate range.
